Die Entwicklung der Projekte und Arbeiten des Eames Office zeigen einen deutlichen Shift von der Gestaltung von Objekten hin zur Vermittlung von Wissen und Gestaltung von Information. Damit bildet das Werk der Eames zugleich einen Höhepunkt der Designgeschichte des ausgehenden Industriezeitalters wie es schon vorausweisender Vorbote der Handlungsfelder der Designprofessionen im „Information Age” ist.
