IDEATION WORKSHOP I

Part 1: Brainstorming
3 Definitions
– Everyday situations
– Everyday objects
– Properties of algae

Starting from the concepts collected to the individual definitions, three random terms are selected from each conceptual cloud and then used for the generating of ideas.

Part 2: Brainwriting
Everyone selects one from all ideas that were created and formulates a ‘what if …’ question. Again, ideas are generated that result from this question. After a short time, a change is made and another one leads the list of ideas.

Part 3: Stories
1 day
1 photo every 10 minutes

Each student selects four inspiring images from all the photos shown and imagines a short fictitious narrative assuming that algae have ‘settled’ our daily lives. Subsequently, each student changes to another selection and continues writing the existing story there.
Finally, everyone changes again so that each student is confronted with a selection and story that has not been designed by him / her and sketches the narrative ideas that could change our everyday life through the use of algae.

Part 4: Concepts
Now everyone chooses by them self the most promising idea from all the ideas that have arisen in the course of the workshop and visualizes them by sketches and text as a concept. Concurrent and reflectively the USP, advantages / disadvantages, as well as foreseeable problems or still open questions are noted.
Afterwards, further potentials and possible problems of the implementation are routed in the group by using the Star Trek method.
