SAFE JUNCTION

Safe cycling for everyone

During the corona pandemic, new pop-up bike lanes were created in many cities, which redistribute the traffic area in favor of the cyclists. Sustainable mobility in cities depends on an attractive, i.e. safe bicycle infrastructure. We have therefore faced a frequent cause of accidents, right turns at intersections. Our approach provides an intelligently reacting barrier in the intersection area that dynamically separates the bike lane from the road. The result is a project plan that includes the project partners and ultimately aims for a test track in public traffic. And as with the pop-up bike lanes, we have a quick and uncomplicated implementation in mind, we want to make use of the right moment and first-time experience. SAFE JUNCTION is a joint project that draws on voluntary commitment from the public and is planned as commons or open source.
